Industry-wide disruption · compressed timelines · live client events

  • Translated in-person dynamics — registration, sessions, fairs — rather than merely streaming them
  • Real client events ran on the work: annual conferences to virtual job fairs
the turn

The events industry lost its venue. The product had to become one.

In 2020, in-person events stopped, and with them the core premise of an event-app company. The work became an act of translation — taking what made physical events work and rebuilding it in fully digital form, fast enough for clients whose events couldn't wait.

The interesting design problem wasn't the video stream; it was everything around it. What is a registration desk online? What is the hallway between sessions, the booth you wander past, the queue at a job fair where a recruiter sizes you up? Each artifact below is a translation of a physical ritual into an interface — under timelines measured in weeks, for events already on the calendar.
